I created a series of maps for Day 23 of the 30 Day Map Challenge 2022 on the theme of movement. These maps focused on inbound and outbound population migration in Texas from 2019-20, based on tax filing data. Through visually engaging maps, I was able to highlight the significant population migration between Texas and California, with both states experiencing both inbound and outbound migration. Interestingly, Texas had almost double the amount of inbound migration from California as it did outbound migration to the state, showcasing the state's unique appeal for those seeking a new place to call home.
